Why this role matters:

As a Solutions Engineer, you’ll be a critical partner to our API sales team—guiding customers through the pre-sales journey and shaping technical solutions that solve real business problems. Working alongside account managers, product teams, and customers, you’ll uncover needs, deliver impactful presentations, and ensure a seamless handover into post-sales success.

You’ll bring our API offerings to life through tailored demos, clear technical communication, and thoughtful problem-solving. As a key technical voice in the sales process, you’ll confidently address objections and highlight the real value our solutions can deliver.

Given our API approach, a strong understanding of software development is essential—you should be comfortable engaging with developers and jumping in to support technical discussions as needed.

This role requires someone who is willing to travel within the region to meet customers, run workshops, and build strong in-person relationships.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Create accurate and timely solution designs to support customer sales quotes
  • Join sales calls to provide technical insight and help drive opportunities
  • Lead technical discovery sessions to clearly identify customer needs
  • Deliver tailored, business-focused product demos—both in-person and online
  • Develop compelling proposals by reviewing RFPs, quotes, and customer documents
  • Support cross-functional teams (Product, Marketing, Sales Training) with technical expertise
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitors to add value in every customer interaction
  • Present product and technical content clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

What you'll bring

Required:

  • 5+ years working in a similar Pre-Sales role, either within CPaaS, SaaS or Hardware
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with sales teams, partners, vendors, and customers
  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills - native level of fluency in Japanese, and ability to communicate in English with the rest of the organization are a must
  • Deep understanding of the sales process and solution selling
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities
  • Highly organized with strong time management and minimal need for supervision
  • Willingness to travel throughout the sales region

Experience we consider a plus:

  • Experience with APIs or software development (even at hobby level)
  • Knowledge of telecom regulations in the local market
  • Industry certifications in Data Networking, SIP, or UCaaS, and technical knowledge of UCaaS/PBX and contact center solutions
