Are you ready to take on a pivotal role where you can be a technical and business domain expert, an embedded Architect, and an innovation champion for American Funds Service Group (AFSG)-related solutions? As a Solutions Engineer Lead, you will collaborate with business leaders, architects, and portfolio managers to shape and influence business and technology strategies. You'll outline target state solutions and develop product roadmaps in partnership with our delivery teams.

Mentor, coach, motivate, and influence solutions engineers and delivery teams on projects and initiatives across AFSG IT Servicing Solutions.

You hold a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.

You have Expertise in AI and Emerging Technologies: You have a solid understanding of how modern AI “works,” what it does well, what its limitations are, and where it is headed. You are the person who experiments with new AI tools and who spends a lot of time thinking about how they will transform work, both technical and non-technical. You have a broad interest in transformative technologies beyond AI (e.g., distributed ledgers, quantum computing, augmented reality, etc.) and what their impacts will be on the workplace and on the world. You are knowledgeable and credible as a subject-matter expert across the emerging technology space and are an effective evangelist for new technologies.

You bring at least 10 years of software engineering experience with preferred technologies including cloud capabilities, container orchestration, microservices architecture, front-end and back-end development frameworks, messaging systems, web technologies, database management systems, application servers, and various operating systems.

You have successfully engaged with all levels of business and IT leadership in a consultative manner, identifying opportunities and delivering well-designed technology solutions to enable our Long-Term Strategic Plan for AFSG.

You are considered a thought leader in AI and/or other areas of emerging technology.

You have a strong familiarity with the modern AI stack and its capabilities, including various LLMs, agent frameworks, vector databases, etc.

You are experienced with using AI and AI tools to automate and/or improve business processes and workflows. You have strong opinions (weakly held) about how new technologies will impact the workplace.

You have hands-on experience in cloud native implementation, including microservice architecture, serverless architectures, and containerization.

You excel in providing technical leadership, end-to-end solution ownership, and technical strategy development.

You possess expertise in software engineering best practices and have experience in designing and managing cloud capabilities to ensure critical SLAs and resiliency.

You have a strong foundation of technical ability, business acumen, leadership skills, and a desire to help others grow.

You are passionate about developing software, solution design, quality engineering, and learning business domains.

You have an agile mindset, a penchant for innovative solutions, and strong engineering discipline.
San Antonio Base Salary Range: $142,394-$227,830
In addition to a highly competitive base salary, per plan guidelines, restrictions and vesting requirements, you also will be eligible for an individual annual performance bonus, plus Capital’s annual profitability bonus plus a retirement plan where Capital contributes 15% of your eligible earnings.
