Job Description
The Cloud Solutions Architect supports the design, build, and troubleshooting of data integration tools for Nordic clients. This position works under the direction of the Director, Digital Health to address documented client needs while actively seeking opportunities to refine client deliverables, build knowledge in new domains, and improve Nordic’s business processes.
Key Responsibilities
The Cloud Solutions Architect will have the following key responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:
- Develop cloud technical strategies and/or solutions
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving of cloud technologies supporting digital health activities
- Fulfilling technical requests from clients and helping senior staff develop detailed requirement specifications and estimated work effort
- Managing assigned tasks, and maintaining a high standard of service for all customer requests
- Providing updates for and participating as needed in weekly status calls with customers,
- Participating in build and performing testing
- Continuously improving process and internal support documents
- Assisting in the improvement of workflows and processes
- Mentoring junior team members and being a knowledge lead for team members
- Participating in continuous learning opportunities to grow solution expertise
- Maximizing team productivity and operational metrics
- Coordinating and forecasting work while planning accordingly
- Managing project teams of technical consultants
- Demonstrating success in managing client engagements including leadership-level relationships
- Staying abreast of the latest technology, regulations, and news relating to healthcare IT, continuously evaluating the market for opportunities that supersede competitors’ products
- Oversight of product development, creation, and refining, ensuring that Nordic has comprehensive product and solution offerings
- Participating in the development and adoption of standards, policies, and best practices for healthcare IT
- Networking to build strong Nordic brand recognition, and find new avenues for customer engagement
- Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Math or should have relevant experience
- AWS Certification in one of the following: Solutions Architect Associate, Developer Associate, Solutions Architect Professional, Advanced Networking Specialty, Security Specialty
- 8+ years of enterprise IT experience that includes a minimum 3 years of hands-on experience managing hybrid infrastructure (AWS Cloud or Azure Cloud + On-premise)
- 3+ Years of experience in Architecting solutions on AWS in an Enterprise environment
- 3+ Years of experience in working with AWS Logs (e.g. Cloud Watch), and developing monitoring solutions
- 3+ Years of experience in creating IAM Roles and Policies to be used with various AWS resources
- 3+ Years of experience in AWS Administration; creating resources, securing private endpoints, configuring IAM roles, and right-sizing resources
- 5+ Years of experience with traditional on-prem Enterprise technologies like Active Directory, TCP/IP, VPN, Routers/Firewalls, SANs, NAS, Client/Server environments, etc
- Should have an understanding of application architecture, Virtualization, Hyperconverged Infrastructure, Database, Networking and Security
- Proficiency with Networking resources within AWS and integrating it to on-prem resources
- Proficiency in configuring private endpoints for all resources and restricting internal VPC and on-prem traffic only
- Previous experience with the AWS Data Stack in an Enterprise Setting (AWS RDS, AWS S3 Buckets, AWS Glue, AWS Athena, AWS DSM, etc.)
- Experience in migrating data and/or workloads from on-prem systems to the Cloud
- Scripting knowledge is preferred
- Demonstrated migration to AWS or Azure, intermediate to advanced knowledge on setting up Azure tenants, migrations, or worked on cloud migration proposals will be a plus
- Healthcare experience and an understanding of Epic architecture is preferred plus
- AWS or Azure Certification is mandatory
- Having multi cloud skill set (AWS, Azure, GCP) is preferred
- Knowledge of resources like App Service, Redis Cache, Azure SQL Database, Azure Search, App Insights, Log Analytics, Azure Monitor
- Experience with CI/CD toolset (Jenkins, GitLab, Azure DevOps)
- Experience working GIT (GitHub, GitLab, AWS CodeCommit, Azure DevOps)
- GitLab experience is preferred
- Previous experience building CI/CD pipelines is preferred
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to organize
- Ability to work independently and within a team environment
- Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
