Job Description:
Solution Architect ecommerce (cart/checkout) is part of the growing ecommerce transformation team at Pluralsight. This team is focused on enabling best in class customer experience for our customers online ecommerce Solutions Architect will be responsible for partnering closely with Marketing and Sales to understand the initiatives to design and architect. You will also collaborate with other technology directors, technical leads and product managers, you will have visibility and input into how we accomplish key business priorities and will be relied upon to prioritize technical engineering considerations and workstreams to meet those objectives. You will work closely with all parts of our engineering organization, driving priorities and empowering the ecommerce team of designers, engineers and product managers with the tools necessary for them to deliver. We’re looking for someone who will be devising and implementing initiatives that drive traffic, conversion, customer retention, revenue, and profitability of the ecommerce platform.

What you’ll do:
-
Provide key strategic consulting and advisory services to IT executives, project teams, operations and engineering teams to ensure that systems solutions are in line with the architectural direction and business strategies

Engage in user experience, conversion optimization, development, testing and ecommerce website product management

Provide input into the roadmap for ecommerce

Work closely with Development teams and act as a bridge between Product owners and Development teams to perform Proof of Concepts on provided design and technology, develop re-usable components etc

Conduct and provide industry research and evaluations on strategic architectural and solution alternatives

Develop prototypes and conduct proof of concept feasibility studies

Provide guidance, review and other feedback on the evolution of systems and architectures and the adoption of new technologies with creation of technology and architecture roadmaps

Participate in Architecture Review Board, Application Portfolio Management and other key Enterprise Architecture governance activities

Coach and mentor other solution architects that are distributed onsite, offshore, and other remote locations to ensure deliverables are aligned and on track for completion/delivery

Participate in project estimations, system architecture and performance engineering of projects

Self-motivated to research the newest technologies and industry trends. Uses this research in furthering our architecture strategy and solutions.
Experience you’ll bring:
-
Strong experience in architecting large enterprise and ecommerce systems with high transaction volumes.
-
Large scale enterprise system experience, ecommerce experience.
-
Hands on working on MACH (Microservices, APIs-first, Cloud-native, and Headless) architecture using Java, NodeJS etc
-
Development experience with full stack development using UI technologies like React/React Native or Native iOS/Android development and backend using microservices architecture.

Proficiency in API security frameworks, token management and user access control including OAuth, JWT, etc.
-
Hands on experience debugging production software, monitoring tools like AppDynamics or any similar one.
-
Solid foundation and understanding of relational and NoSQL database principles.
-
Ability to work in an Agile / SCRUM environment.
-
Proven track record of executing on the full product lifecycle (inception through deprecation) to create highly scalable and flexible RESTful APIs to enable an infinite number of digital products.

Strong writing and communication skills.
Requirements:
-
Requires a minimum of 7 years in a software engineering or architecture experience and a proven track record of successfully architecting and building highly available, scalable, and low latency systems for high traffic applications
-
3-5 years of experience in ecommerce in retail industry
-
5+ years of experience in a solution or technical architect role
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, preferred.
Preferred qualifications/skills
-
SaaS billing experience (Zuora)
-
Experience using Mulesoft or other integration tools
-
Knowledge of international ecommerce regulations, standards, and payment gateways.
Travel Requirements:
While Pluralsight operates under a remote and hybrid work model, we believe that in-person connection and collaboration are important. Recurring travel to our HQ in Utah may be required depending on the role and team member location.

The annual US base salary range for this role is $142,200 - $175,600 USD. Pluralsight's pay ranges vary based on work location. Talent Acquisition can share more detail during the hiring process when applicable. Each candidate’s compensation offer will be based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, geography, experience, skills, job duties, and business need, among other things. In addition to the base salary, this role may also be eligible for benefits and bonuses.
