About the job

As a Team Software Architect, you will be working in a multidisciplinary Agile team. This team, along with other teams in the infrastructure group, develop and test the infrastructure platform for the combat management systems. The development teams are responsible for the entire development chain – requirements analysis, design, development, integration, testing, validation and demonstrating the current status of the product. The infrastructure we are currently developing will be the basis for our products and run sometimes up to 30 years on a navy ship. Tasks:

  • Together with the lead architect and the team of architects from the other scrum teams, you determine the technical vision and solutions.
  • Design robust software architecture for the issues you will solve within your scrum team,
  • Lead, coach and technically manage (also remote) a team of agile developers,
  • Develop software development processes to a higher standard,
  • Translating requirements into functional solutions.
  • Evaluate and implement new technologies to improve our products.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with best practices and coding standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and translate technical requirements.

About you

Do you have a passion for technology, do you enjoy constantly developing your skills and are you interested in working on Naval systems? Then you are the person we are looking for. 

You are a talented architect who enjoys specifying and designing IT infrastructure components together with our lead architect and the other team architects. You enjoy personal development both in hard skills and human skills.

Relevant experiences are:

  • Software architect for 5 years.
  • Linux (5 years).
  • Ansible (3 years).
  • Network technologies (3 years; CCNA/CCIP level networking knowledge).
  • Experience with a number of the following tools and technologies: git, jira, confluence.
  • Agile methodologies.

You hold a bachelor or master degree in computer science, IT service management or comparable. Your colleagues are recognized experts in the field and will help you get up to speed and Thales will gladly invest in your development. 

An important requirement to fulfil this role, is flexibility and the ability to communicate fluently in English to all types (technical, management) of stakeholders.
