Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software Quality Specialist to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the software development process and its output adhere to established quality standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop effective strategies and test plans, execute tests, and refine our software to achieve the highest quality. Will be responsible for generating the documentation required by the customer, implementing and ensuring the processes established by ITIL v3, such as incident, problem and change management, based on KPIs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with software developers and project support teams to understand requirements and identify quality assurance needs.

  • Develop and implement quality assurance policies and procedures, including test strategies, plans, cases, and scripts.

  • Execute test cases (manual or automated) and analyze results to report any defects or issues.

  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

  • Identify key quality metrics and track quality assurance metrics like defect densities and open defect counts.

  • Review and analyze system specifications to ensure they are testable and consistent with company standards.

  • Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformance issues to provide corrective actions.

  • Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies, including automated testing tools and processes.

  • Assist in the development of training materials to improve software development practices related to quality assurance.

  • Create, maintain and manage the overall project documentation. His main activities will be to secure the availability of the following information: testing protocols, testing results, processes and procedures, quality reports, design change orders, etc.

  • Review and approve all quality documentation prior to being distributed.

  • Provide training and support to all the team in order to ensure everybody understands the importance of keeping project documents up to date.

  • Perform the configuration management making sure all documentation has the correct version and stored in the Configuration Management System.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

  • Proven experience as a Quality Assurance Tester or similar role.

  • Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.

  • Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.

  • Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.

  • Experience with automated testing tools is a plus.

  • Keen attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
