As a QA Automation Engineer at Proofpoint, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to ensure the quality of our software products. You will work closely with the development and operations teams to create and implement testing strategies that cover a range of performance metrics, including load, stress, and performance testing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Java and Python, proficiency in a Linux environment, and a solid understanding of performance testing methodologies. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Java and Python. 

  • Perform load, stress, and performance testing to identify bottlenecks and ensure the scalability and reliability of software applications. 

  • Develop and execute test plans and test cases, both automated and manual, to ensure comprehensive coverage of functional and non-functional requirements. 

  • Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to ensure that testing is integrated into the development process. 

  • Analyze test results, report defects, and work with the development team to resolve issues in a timely manner. 

  • Monitor and maintain test environments, including setting up and configuring Linux-based systems for testing purposes. 

  • Continuously improve testing processes and frameworks to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of testing activities. 

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest testing tools, trends, and methodologies to ensure that our testing practices remain cutting-edge. 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. 

  • Proven experience in QA automation, with strong skills in Java and Python. 

  • Solid understanding of performance testing methodologies, including load testing, stress testing, and performance testing. 

  • Proficiency in Linux, with experience setting up and configuring testing environments. 

  • Familiarity with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or LoadRunner. 

  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on identifying potential issues before they become critical problems. 

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. 

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  •  Experience with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines. 

  • Knowledge of cloud-based environments and testing in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). 

  • Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 

  • Experience in testing distributed systems.
