About The Role
With tens of millions of visitors every week, we strive to be the best in the industry for our users. You'll be directly involved with hands on coding (Backend focussed), driving the architecture, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions while also being responsible for managing a team of talented Engineers based around LatAM. This will include line management, helping the team grow, improve, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Your Day-to-day
- Leading and managing a strong team of various Engineers (Backend, Frontend, Mobile and QA) in the LatAM region, this includes mentoring, performance reviews, work allocation, career development, code reviews etc
- Provide technical leadership and ensure best practices in software development, code quality, and architecture
- Drive the development lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality solutions
- You'll be a hands on engineer focussing on the Backend, but also a hands off leader, so allocate your time accordingly!
Backend tech stack: Java Springboot, K8s, AWS, MySQL, RocketMQ, Grafana, Prometheus, Jenkins etc
Wider tech stack: VueJS, Kotlin, Swift
You should apply if you have
- 6+ years of hands on backend coding experience (Preferably in Java)
- 2+ years leading and managing Engineering teams
- Strong expertise in APIs and microservices
- Strong experience in software architecture and designing scalable, reliable systems
- Sporty is an English speaking working environment, so we are looking for English speakers
Our interview process involves 3 main stages
- Hackerrank test (Maximum of 90 minutes)
- A call with a member of our Talent team
- Final interview with our Engineering team (You’ll meet with 3 engineers on separate occasions for 45 minutes each)
We can confidently say that we have a feedback loop of 24-48 hours on all stages, so you’ll never be left in the dark when you’re in process with us.
