Salesforce is seeking a skilled and innovative Senior Member of Technical Staff to contribute to intelligent Search and Knowledge Graph solutions within our Einstein Foundation team. The Team

Our Einstein Foundation team is a multidisciplinary group of machine learning engineers, data scientists, and software developers dedicated to creating adaptive, context-aware systems that redefine customer interactions. The Role

You will actively contribute to the design and development of intelligent Search and Knowledge Graph solutions, integrating innovative machine learning, LLMs, and vector databases. You’ll lead technical epics, work hands-on with the development team, and ensure the scalability and reliability of our solutions. Collaborating with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and Research teams, you’ll help shape the future of Salesforce’s AI experiences.

What You’ll Do

  • Develop Sophisticated Search & Knowledge Graph Solutions

  • Work on building and optimizing high-performance search and retrieval solutions demonstrating Knowledge Graphs for enterprise-scale environments.

  • Contribute to Intelligent Retrieval Pipelines

  • Implement hybrid retrieval pipelines combining semantic, vector, and symbolic search to enhance relevance, speed, and accuracy.

  • Optimize and Automate Systems

  • Participate in automating capacity planning, configuration, and supervising to drive real-time optimization.

  • Lead Technical Epics

  •  Take ownership of key technical epics, ensuring alignment across teams and timely delivery of high-quality solutions.

  • Collaborate Across Teams

  • Work closely with Product Managers, ML Engineers, and Knowledge Graph experts to deliver scalable, impactful AI driven solutions.

  • Drive Innovation in Search and Knowledge Graphs

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, contributing to discussions and experimentation with vector search, graph embeddings, and knowledge-augmented retrieval.

Required Skills

  • 5+ Years in Machine Learning & Search Systems

  • Strong experience with search optimization, Knowledge Graphs, and innovative retrieval techniques.

  • Proficiency in Semantic and Vector-Based Search

  • Experience with vector databases (e.g., FAISS, Pinecone, Milvus) and ANN search algorithms to deliver high-relevance results.

  • Hands-on NLP & LLMs Expertise

  • Practical experience with NLP techniques, prompt engineering, and LLMs for enterprise-scale applications.

  • Experience with Knowledge Graphs

  •  Hands-on experience with graph databases (e.g., Neo4j, Amazon Neptune) and graph embedding techniques to enhance retrieval.

  • Strong Programming and ML Framework Skills

  •   Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch) for developing scalable AI systems.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Retrieval Pipelines

  • Hands-on experience in building multi-stage retrieval workflows balancing precision and recall.

  • Expertise in Retrieval Optimization

  • Familiarity with re-ranking, hybrid search, and knowledge augmented retrieval techniques.

  • Graph Embedding & Contextual Search

  • Experience in implementing graph-based search and context expansion methods for deep, accurate retrieval.

  • Knowledge Graph Curation & Management

  • Knowledge of schema design, ontology management, and Knowledge Graph curation.

  • Feedback Loops and Fine-Tuning

  • Experience incorporating user feedback and relevance signals for continuous improvement.

Additional Attributes:

  • Broad experience in diverse ML techniques, adaptable for Search and Knowledge Graph use cases.

  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work across engineering, research, and product teams.

For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $125,700 to $216,700.

For California-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $137,100 to $236,500.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
