Manager, Software Engineering
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead a team of talented engineers. You will be instrumental in building a collaborative and innovative environment, ensuring efficient project execution, and driving the technical strategy for Rapid7's unique Exposure Management software.

Our Product and Engineering team works with our award-winning products to help create an intuitive and unified experience to help customers assess risk, detect threats and automate their security programs at over 10,000 organizations. These teams use best-in-class technology, leading-edge research, and broad, strategic expertise to develop new products and features, and enhance existing features, in order to create value for customers across the world.
Join our engineering team to help us build and innovate great products on our Exposure Management Platform which provides a complete attack surface view teams can trust to detect and prioritize security issues from endpoint to cloud.
About the Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead and empower a team of engineers to deliver high-quality technical solutions. You'll be responsible for project execution, team mentorship, and driving technical strategy. By fostering a collaborative environment and ensuring efficient workflows, you directly impact the team's ability to achieve their goals and contribute to the company's success.
In this role, you will:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
- Conduct regular performance reviews, provide constructive feedback, and identify opportunities for professional growth.
- Recruit, onboard, and retain top engineering talent.
- Manage team workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Plan, execute, and monitor engineering projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and specifications.
- Identify and mitigate project risks and dependencies.
- Contribute to the development of the overall technical strategy and roadmap.
The skills you will bring include:
- 5+ years of software engineering work experience, with hands-on technical management building enterprise web solutions, API design, and interactions between servers and clients.
- Demonstrated experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
