It all started with an idea at Block in 2013. Initially built to take the pain out of peer-to-peer payments, Cash App has gone from a simple product with a single purpose to a dynamic ecosystem, developing unique financial products, including Afterpay/Clearpay, to provide a better way to send, spend, invest, borrow and save to our 50+ million monthly active customers. We want to redefine the world's relationship with money to make it more relatable, instantly available, and universally accessible.
Today, Cash App has thousands of employees working globally across office and remote locations, with a culture geared toward innovation, collaboration and impact. We've been a distributed team since day one, and many of our roles can be done remotely from the countries where Cash App operates. No matter the location, we tailor our experience to ensure our employees are creative, productive, and happy.
The Team
Do you love building both software and teams? Do you care about engineering culture? Cash App is looking for a technical & people leader to help lead & grow our Ledgering team within the Financial Platform engineering org.
Cash App's Financial Platform engineering org is building the core set of capabilities that provide access to the underlying infrastructure that powers finance around the globe. One of the fundamental functions we provide is Ledgering, responsible for providing a highly scalable, reliable and accessible real-time ledgering capability.
The Ledgering team owns the past, present and future of ledgering at Cash App. This is one of the most critical pieces of infrastructure supporting Cash App; if the ledger goes down, Cash App goes with it! However, the ledger is also one of the first services developed at Cash App, and no longer meets the needs of the breadth of features in Cash App. This is a challenging role with lots of opportunity; you'll get to drive forward the future of ledgering at cash, leading an autonomous engineering team to solve high impact problems.
We strive to build innovative and valuable solutions by growing diverse teams of people who care about what they do. Ledgering is an inclusive and balanced engineering team, with a safe team environment enabling people to 'just work'.
