Position Overview
The job profile for this position is Software Engineering Lead Analyst, which is a Band 3 Contributor Career Track Role.
Cigna, a leading Health Services company, is looking for an exceptional Full Stack Software Engineer in our Core Systems Organization. In this role you will be coding, testing and deploying changes using Python and Go coding languages. The immediate focus of the position will be using the Go language with the Python language being a secondary skill to leverage.
In this role you will have the unique opportunity to design, develop, and deploy applications and features that will directly impact Cigna's bottom line, ultimately providing better and more affordable healthcare for our customers. Our team uses a variety of technologies including the latest web frameworks and mainframe. You will have the opportunity to build state-of-the-art technology that is scalable and robust, utilizing cloud infrastructure, and full automation. Responsibilities
- Support scrum team by coding, testing and implementing solutions that support business needs
- Integrate both custom developed and package based solutions on prem/cloud environment
- Support production implementation activities including advanced troubleshooting and application debugging
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with peers within and outside of the immediate scrum team
- Ability to collaborate with stakeholders: Business projects owners and managers, Quality Engineering leads, service operations
- Familiarity with agile methodology and working within a scrum team environment
- Familiarity with modern delivery practices such as continuous integration, behavior/test driven development, and specification by example.
Required Experience & Education:
- Experience on an Agile team using Scrum or Kanban
- Experience in the following:
- 5 - 8 years' experience in Core Skills: Python and/or Go language
- Preferred to have 2+ years' experience in Secondary Skills:
- Web and client server technologies including Angular, other Node.js systems, RESTful/API services, micro-services
- Test Driven Design (TDD) and unit testing as part of software development using packages NUnit, JUnit, PyUnit, Ansible, etc.
- CI/CD environment (Jenkins/Ansible experience a plus)
- TFS/Git version control software
