Leidos Defense Systems Sector is seeking a Software Engineer Intern in Huntsville, AL to perform software development and integration tasks in support of missile defense contracts. This work may also encompass several other areas including modeling and simulation. Candidates will be expected to apply existing knowledge and acquire new skills to help solve complex problems, all while gaining experience in the development and delivery of software solutions for U.S government customers.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to design and develop software solutions, document results and findings, and/or support test and integration of software systems
- Apply previously acquired skills and knowledge to technical tasks
- Effectively communicate with engineers in an Agile Scrum environment regarding current tasks
Basic Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing B.S. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field
- Strong understanding and experience with C++, C#, Java, or Python object-oriented programming through course work, lab projects, and previous internships
- Demonstrate problem solving, teamwork, and communication skills
- US Citizenship required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using IDEs and software version control systems
- Experience working in an Agile Scrum environment
