Department OverviewMotorola's Access Control Division's (previously OpenPath, now Avigilon Alta) mission is to improve your workday with smart office technology at your front door. Elevate Your Career: JavaScript/React/Node.js Software Engineering Intern Opportunity!
We are seeking a passionate Software Engineering Intern with a strong interest in developing and maintaining modern JavaScript/React/Node.js applications and cloud-based solutions. Join our team to help expand our capabilities and deliver the next generation of software solutions.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Agile Development: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives to optimize team performance using Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Collaborative Development: Work in a dynamic environment, leveraging best practices in software engineering and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD).
- Quality Assurance: Design and execute tests, including unit, integration, system, and end-to-end tests, to ensure application reliability and performance.
- Frontend & Backend Development: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop robust React-based frontends and Node.js backend services.
- Cloud & Scalability: Assist in building scalable, cloud-based solutions that meet performance and reliability benchmarks.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in JavaScript/ES6+, Node.js, and React.js.
- Experience in building and deploying RESTful APIs and backend services using Node.js.
- Familiarity with SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB).
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with version control systems, particularly Git.
- Understanding of state management tools such as Redux or Context API.
- Familiarity with front-end build tools (e.g., Webpack, Vite) and testing frameworks like Jest or Mocha.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker) is a plus.
- Awareness of IoT services such as MQTT is a plus.
