Key Responsibilities
- Apply engineering principles to design, develop, test, and maintain software systems.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand and implement software requirements.
- Contribute to requirements analysis, conceptual design, detailed design, and implementation.
- Support integration testing of software programs.
- Assist in generating interface control documents and contribute to the development of test plans and procedures.
- Participate in specific phases of project implementation and handle multiple tasks concurrently.
- Evaluate problems on an as-needed basis and report to senior staff and project management lead.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 2+ years of software engineering experience.
- A team player with a willingness to learn new technologies and methodologies quickly.
- Experience working and negotiating with stakeholders.
- Proficient in Java development, with familiarity in Python, Ruby on Rails.
- Experience in an agile, multidisciplinary team environment, preferably in large-scale cloud applications.
- Experience developing RESTful API endpoints with object-oriented programming languages (e.g., Java/Spring).
- Familiarity with healthcare data and integration, including HL7, FHIR, JSON, XML.
- Understanding of healthcare terminology sets (ICD, SNOMED, CPT/HCPCS, LOINC) and standards for interoperability (HL7v2, FHIR).
- Familiarity with the development and implementation of concept maps, especially with respect to FHIR resources.
- Experience with addressing challenges in data cleaning and identifying ways to improve conformance and quality, especially with large volumes of clinical data.
- US Citizenship or Permanent Residency required.
- Must reside in the Continental US.
- Depending on government agency, specific requirements may include public trust background check or security clearance.
Preferred Requirements
- Past development experience, specifically web application development.
- Previous public sector consulting experience and understanding of customer needs.
- Experience at CMS or in the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with Scaled Agile Framework® (SAFe®) or other agile frameworks
