Department OverviewThe Command and Control team develops software for public safety organizations to manage public safety responders workflow and operational intelligence management. We build products to serve large cities that need sophisticated, customized workflows to smaller municipalities that need cost effective, end to end solutions. All of our systems are built scalable and highly reliable. We provide both cloud and on-premises solutions.
These efforts are all in support of our cloud-based Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions for public safety customers. This team is part of the Software Enterprise division, which offers a secure, reliable and efficient mechanism to connect 3rd party products with MSI ecosystem.
Job Description

This Software Engineering position will be a member of the team that develops interfaces between Motorola's products and third party products. Build and maintain interfaces between Motorola products and third party applications. Develop and test software interfaces between MSI products (CAD, RMS, Real Time Command & Control, and Analytics) and a variety of 3rd party systems systems as required to meet customer requirements defined by solution architects. Interfaces are developed using an Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) architecture with adapters to 3rd party and MSI systems and a transformation layer that includes field mapping, filtering, triggering, and business logic. Interfaces are implemented using a variety of technologies, including Java, Javascript, NodeJS, C#, and SQL.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 0-3 years of experience with professional software development
  • 0-3 years of experience with .Net Framework
  • Must be able to obtain background clearance as required by government customer

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Agile Software Development practices
  • Experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2012+
  • Experience using Microsoft C#
  • Experience creating RESTful web services
  • Experience using scripting technologies such as Javascript and Typescript. 
  • Experience using source control technologies (Git preferred)
  • Experience with Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
  • Experience with cloud technologies (Azure/GCP preferred).
  • Experience using Kubernetes

This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice's "Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy" and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent fingerprint background check administered by Motorola Solutions Inc. customers.

Note: Candidate can reside anywhere in the US.

Salary Range: $90,000 USD - $97,000 USD
