Software Engineer in Test - Linux Networking

The Red Hat Quality Engineering (QE) team is looking for a Software Quality Engineer to join our Red Hat Network team in Brno, Czech Republic.
In this role you will have the opportunity to work on key networking components supporting needs, you will develop and execute test automation against Red Hat's product offerings within our extensive portfolio.
To do so successfully, you will learn to be an expert in various networking fields, and you will know many customer usage scenarios.
 

What you will do:

• Learn Red Hat's networking technologies, tools, and stack

• Reproduce and verify bugs, add test coverage accordingly, areas may involve NIC Drivers, SR-IOV, OpenvSwitch(OVS), IPv6, tunnel, Bonding, Vlan, PTP, etc.

• Run regression tests and review results, provide accurate testing status reports

• Work with developers to review test gaps

What you will bring:

• Experience with software test planning, test cases design, test script automation, and documentation

• Knowledge in at least 3 areas of IPV6, VLAN, bonding, route, tunnel, NIC driver, SR-IOV, OpenvSwitch(OVS), and precision time protocol(PTP)

• Experience with programming languages like Python or bash or C

• Solid understanding of and direct experience with Linux environment

• Debugging, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills

• Good communication skills

The following are considered a plus:

• Knowledge and experience in 5G Telco and openshift

• Knowledge of operating systems, hardware, and kernel concepts

• Experience with container or virtualization technologies

• Degree in computer science or similar field

• Familiarity with open source technology
