About This Opportunity
Portfolio Analytics, sitting within the Digital Banking unit, is a specialist team responsible for developing methodology, data and tools used in both Business & Commercial Banking and the Corporate & Institutional Banking divisions. We support the delivery of sustainable returns, manage the capital needs and execute risk distribution transactions.
The team is responsible for building quantitative methods and tools to support the Market pricing of assets (MTM), the Capital Risk Transfer modelling and the execution of Collateral Debt Obligations (CDO).
We're looking for an outstanding professional to take the distribution platform forward. The role provides the opportunity to work flexibly, collaboratively and further develop your skills within a team with multifaceted strengths.
Objective: Working closely with quantitative model developers, Platform teams, and with Business users to deliver and implement applications to drive the objective of senior members within the team of shaping, developing, driving and embedding analytical tools.
Initially you'll enhance a suite of .Net Core API based applications to optimise code efficiency, robustness and remove the remaining .Net Framework and legacy VSTO dependencies to create a purer .Net Core API based implementation that can be more easily automated server side and is inherently “cloud ready”.
Key to your role is to work with quantitative model developers and testers to push through changes to delivery and manage the GIT repositories, engage with the business to gather requirements and implement those requirements to completion following an agile process.
Once you become comfortable with the applications and support processes, you'll be central in the strategic design and direction of the applications, including interim on-premises web hosting, future migration to cloud services or containers on Azure or GCP, providing the standards for software quality and the interconnectivity of a production platform of API microservices.
Ongoing support and improvements will be required by you throughout the engagement, so you need to be confident and able to run these responsibilities along with the redevelopment stages.
What You'll Need
-
Technical ability is a given but more importantly you're a great teammate with emphasis on collaboration with all business partners and our technical teams.
-
You're passionate about technology and how it can solve problems keeping up to date with the newest technologies and see how these can be applied in the team.
-
You have a focused approach on getting results within agreed timelines. You appreciate the importance of clear defined requirements and will be confident and comfortable listening to and sharing technical ideas with a focus on technical simplicity.
-
High motivation and good communication skills are important, as is the ability to work productively and efficiently collaborating in a dynamic team environment!
Technologies:
-
Essential: Expert Microsoft .Net Framework and Core full-stack development and C#, Visual Studio, REST API Development, Version control (Git) and CI/CD tools, unit and integration testing, intermediate Python.
-
Desirable: Cloud Development and application migration (Azure or GCP), Microsoft SQL Server, T-SQL, Entity Framework, Containerisation (Docker or Kubernetes), Microsoft IIS configuration, Excel VBA, VSTO, Jira and Confluence
