As a Software Engineer/DevOps Engineer specialising in Observability, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our observability infrastructure. You will work in an international, cross-functional team to ensure the platform's health, performance, and reliability, as well as interacting with teams using the stack to track their application health. Your expertise in the Elastic Observability stack and OpenTelemetry will be crucial in providing actionable insights and maintaining system integrity.
Design and Implementation:

Develop, maintain and test observability solutions using the Elastic Observability stack.

Extend the capabilities of the solution with newly developed services.

Integrate OpenTelemetry and OpenMetrics for comprehensive monitoring and tracing.

Create dashboards, alerts, and reports to provide visibility into system performance and health.

Work closely with software engineering, operations, and product teams to understand observability requirements.
Troubleshooting and Support:

Respond to incidents and provide root cause analysis of issue in the observability stack itself.

Assist in the development of automated solutions for issue detection and resolution.
Your experience:
-
4+ years in operations or software engineering role
-
Experience with the monitoring of distributed systems (e.g., ElasticSearch, Datadog, Prometheus) and cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP
-
Passion for DevOps and software development with agile methods such as Kanban, TDD, and pair programming
-
Hands-on experience with at least one object-oriented programming language, ideally Python
