TEAM
The Map Services Cloud team in Tokyo, Japan, is a culturally diverse team working on cutting-edge software on Cloud and Embedded to develop next-gen Automotive technology. The team is responsible to source map-related data from various suppliers, efficiently process large sets of spatial data, and deliver them to the vehicles using Over The Air (OTA). We apply state-of-the-art technology to build high-throughput cloud infrastructure and provide up-to-date information for Autonomous driving.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
You will develop geospatial cloud services that serve information to the vehicles and contribute to enhancing the functionality and effectiveness of AD/ADAS technologies. Our services will serve real-time dynamic information to large-scale vehicles. The clients on the vehicles depend on the information provided by our services, so you will need to establish cooperative relationships with the client teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop geospatial cloud services that enhance the functionality and effectiveness of AD/ADAS technologies
- You will work closely with your engineering manager and team lead to lead the design, implementation, testing, deployment, and maintenance across complete software development lifecycles
- You will work closely with your engineering manager/technical lead to lead the efforts to help the team produce quality technical designs, documentation, and engineering best practices
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in modern programming languages in the backend, such as Rust, Go, or Python
- Experience in planning and applying new engineering practices to improve an engineering team's efficiency and quality of work
- Experience with cloud infrastructure such as AWS and managing the infrastructure with IaC like Terraform
- Basic security knowledge includes authentication, encryption, and network security protocols
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience in Computer Science or related fields
- Working proficiency in English
NICE TO HAVES
- Experience in the geospatial or mapping domain
- Experience building commercial-grade web services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Japanese language skills
