Who We Are

Nuro exists to better everyday life through robotics. Founded in 2016, Nuro has spent eight years developing autonomous driving (AD) technology and commercializing AD applications. The Nuro Driver™ is our world-class autonomous driving system that combines AD hardware with our generalized AI-first self-driving software. Built to learn and improve through data, the Nuro Driver™ is one of the few driverless autonomous technologies on public roads today.

Nuro has raised over $2B in capital from Fidelity, Bailie Gifford, T. Rowe Price, Google, and other leading investors. We’ve partnered with some of the world’s most respected brands including Uber, FedEx, Domino’s, Walmart, Kroger, and 7-Eleven.

About the Role

Our robotics team is growing and we are looking for a ML Software Engineer to join our Localization & Mapping team. You will be working on challenging problems in the design and implementation of offboard map priors used on our current and future robots for localization and online map inference. We're searching for an engineer with experience building robust ML and/or mapping systems that work with real data in uncertain environments, and a strong desire to contribute to the future of robot navigation for logistics and transportation.

About the Work

  • Design and implement computer vision & 3D geometry related ML pipelines used in various L&M systems
  • Investigate state-of-the-art algorithms for long term experimental projects related to localization, mapping, and semantic understanding
  • Work cross functionally with other ML teams to integrate algorithms into centralized architectures
  • Scope out and assist in implementing labeling taxonomies and methodologies, as well as data mining
  • Work closely with other autonomy engineers to integrate detection pipelines into the autonomy system and analyze resource usage

About You

  • Computer vision, 3D geometry, or robotics related ML applications
  • “Integration experience” - ability/background in working with robotics systems, practical real-world considerations in design/implementation
