Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) seeks a professional, innovative and detailed individual for our Software Engineering Intern position in Research & Development. The ideal candidate for this position will be able to work part-time during the school year and full-time during the summer. As a Software Engineering Intern, a typical day might include the following:

Contributing to the development of the SEL Synchrowave Operations https://selinc.com/products/5702/ or Blueframe platforms https://selinc.com/products/blueframe/

Designing, implementing and testing new and existing features from customer requirements

Collaborating with other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end data analytic solutions

Debugging and diagnosing failures to propose durable corrections
This job might be for you if you:

Are pursuing a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent

Have programming experience in C#, Java or equivalent OO programming language

Can be productive individually while also working cooperatively in a team environment

Have strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

Are able to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications:

M.S. candidates preferred but advanced Bachelor’s degree candidates will be considered

Experience with .NET, JSON, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Linux

This position is located at SEL’s newest manufacturing facility in West Lafayette, IN. Residents enjoy a mix of suburban and urban environments, as well as a short drive to Indianapolis and Chicago. West Lafayette is a great place to call home.
