About the Team

Rights & Permissions Collector Application team is responsible for overseeing the application that facilitates the rights and permissions process for our publications. This team enables the process of efficiently acquiring and managing the necessary rights for content usage. By maintaining and enhancing the application, they support the tracking of requests, recording of communications, and monitoring of request statuses. The system assures a robust, efficient rights acquisition process that aligns with the organization’s compliance and content acquisition strategy. 

About the Role

This role involves developing, maintaining, and optimizing the application that enables the Rights & Permissions team to track, manage, and acquire content rights for our publications. The ideal candidate will have strong backend and front-end development skills, experience with database management, and a problem-solving mindset to enhance system efficiency and user experience. The candidate will work with business and technology counter parts to build and deliver value through application development and support.

Responsibilities:

  • Build & maintain scalable and secure software solutions across the full stack.
  • Conduct thorough code reviews and adhere to coding standards.
  • Ensure best practices in code quality, performance, and maintainability.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize applications in a production environment.
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
  • Collaborate with UX/UI teams, business analysts, and product managers

Requirements:

  • Proficiency in development languages: Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, SQL.
  • Minimum three years of experience in Java full stack development
  • Experience with frameworks: Spring Boot (Java), React (JavaScript), PostgreSQL.
  • Ability to design and implement RESTful APIs and database interactions.
  • Familiarity with Windows and Linux-based application servers and deployment.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and GitHub.
  • Exposure to cloud and container technologies: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall).
  • Familiarity with industry best practices: TDD, unit test code coverage.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with internal and external technology resources.
  • Ability to complete a moderately complex bug fix.
