Availity is looking for a Software Engineer I to join our growing team! As an Availity Developer, you are responsible for the detailed design, documentation, development, unit testing and maintenance of internally developed applications for Availity business partners. Your SCRUM team responds to business partner needs, expectations, and challenges that are identified.

To be qualified for this position, you have:

Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent in relevant work experience

Have 1-3 years of progressive work experience designing business processes, process mapping, working on process improvement initiatives, and business applications system design development

Experience in React and Material UI
-
Good Knowledge of software engineering with a focus on full stack development
-
Knowledge, skills, and experience to write detailed technical documentation, specifically business requirements and functional specifications for application development
-
Ability and experience to facilitate JAD sessions or other requirements gathering processes. May work with senior Developers to resolve/debug program errors

Knowledge and ability to apply OOD (Java, HTML, XML, Java Script, NodeJS, AWS/Cloud development) and impact to the application development process

Knowledge of web development methodologies (primarily Agile/Scrum), application design, navigation, and information architecture
-
Knowledge of basic database design and query language
-
Strong relationship management and collaboration skills requirements and functional specifications for application development
-
Experience with data modeling, relational databases, data structures and design a plus

Experience working with Product and Business Management teams a plus

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships, supporting company leadership and other team members

Ability to work under pressure. You can maintain composure and professionalism in an interrupt-driven environment

Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities/tasks
What you will be doing:
Application Development

Writing and/or modifying application code to enhance existing programs

Reading and understanding system and functional requirements

Writing simple technical specification for single programs

Reporting missing elements found in system and functional requirements to senior Developers, System Analysts, Technical Leads, System Architects, and Product Managers

Supporting transition of application throughout the Product Development life cycle

Preparing thorough documentation of work
Collaboration

Consulting with senior Developers and System Architects

Accurately scoping project time and resources required to complete programming projects

Reviewing project scope and timeline estimates with senior Developers
-
Consulting with senior Developers to confirm time and resource estimates
Testing
-
Performing unit testing and debugging. Establishing test conditions based on code specifications

Consulting with senior Developers on testing plans and results
-
Working with senior Developers and Quality Engineers to resolve/debug program errors.

Researching vendor products for viable alternatives
