What You Will Bring To The Team
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a self-directed software engineer with previous experience in software development, to join our team in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Software Engineer designs, builds, and supports custom software solutions for some of the world's largest retailers.
What You Will Be Doing
Your typical day as a Toshiba Software Engineer I/JAVA will involve:
- Implements product features in Java using Object-Oriented principles according to guidance. Develops and tests/debugs client- and server-side code.
- Resolves technical challenges requiring a narrow scope of domain and discipline knowledge.
- Demonstrates growth of expertise in a product line and scope of retail domain knowledge.
- Authors and/or reviews release notes, test plans/cases, and functional specifications.
- Developing new custom function and assisting with defect fixing.
- Extending the automation / continuous integration platform, including tests.
- Working closely with the QA team to ensure a quality deliverable.
- Creating product user's documentation.
- Providing configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance support.
- Operative System Windows and Linux.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Naturally To be successful in this role, you must have and know of
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Good English written and verbal communication.
- 2+ years of software development experience.
- 2+ years of Java development Object- Oriented development.
- Strong programming and analytical skills, problem determination and debugging, attention to detail, teamwork, and excellent communication skills.
- Proficiency with code versioning tools like Git, SVN, Jenkins, etc.
- Experience with Windows- and Linux-based operating systems, including software installation, light administration, and simple scripting.
- Computer science fundamentals (object-oriented concepts, data structures and related algorithms).
- Familiarity with software Engineering lifecycle and methodologies. (SAFe)
- Experience working with Hardware.
Nice to have:
- Linux: Kernel, Advanced Bash, Boot sequence
- TrueNas/FreeBSD administration
- Windows programing: Power Basic, AutolT
