Job Description
Inside the Nexthink Diagnostics department, you will join the Application Experience team. One of the key goals of this team is to deliver meaningful insights about how people use web applications while doing their daily jobs. Your work will focus on developing browser extensions that enable the collection of information, which helps achieve this objective.
Our engineers have a result-oriented mindset supported by strong experience. They are able to communicate complicated concepts in simple ways. They constantly come up with ideas to improve our product, prototype them, then see them through in production and measure their impact. All of this is on par with the very high standards of quality, performance, and security that are part of our DNA.
Responsibilities:
- Design, implement, and validate new features for the browser extensions.
- Build solutions that adapt and deploy easily to multiple browsers on multiple platforms.
- Contribute to components further down the data pipeline.
- Collaborate with other teams to design and implement reliable communication protocols.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in web application or service development, making you comfortable with JavaScript, TypeScript, and their underlying mechanisms.
- Proficiency with React is preferred; experience with Angular or Vue is also valuable.
- Experience in extension development across multiple browsers is a big plus.
- Have a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Demonstrate a solid grasp of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
- Consistently write concise and very well-tested code.
- Passionate about leveraging industry-standard continuous integration and delivery pipelines
- Can quickly adapt to different operating systems and development environments.
- Proactive, pragmatic, open-minded, and autonomous approach.
- Profesisonal level of English, broth written and spoken.
Bonus:
- Extensive experience with browser extension development across multiple browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.), including knowledge of browser extension APIs and manifest files (e.g., Manifest V3).
- Familiarity with service workers, content scripts, and messaging patterns between them.
- Strong understanding of browser-specific quirks, debugging tools, and performance optimization in extensions.
- Ability to understand complex systems and effectively trace data from endpoints through ingestion pipelines, Kafka, and databases, identifying issues and optimizing processes.
