eBay, Inc. seeks Software Engineer 2 in Portland, OR
Job Duties: Design, build, and ship software development features for in-house research systems that will be seen and used by millions of eBay users. Utilize native engineering work to achieve feature parity across Android and iOS platforms. Work closely with researchers, data analysts, product managers, and designers to craft intuitive and functional research systems. Trouble-shoot bugs, create tests, and document new process. Redesign the survey creation process and onboarding pages and features. Contribute meaningfully to the product strategy for research systems. Participate in product reviews and team meetings, providing technical insight. Help scope, estimate, and prioritize between conflicting needs. Partial telecommuting permitted from within a commutable distance.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Engineering, or a closely related field plus one year of experience in the job offered or a related occupation.
Special Skill Requirements:
1. Experience with JavaScript with ability to build end-to-end front and backend applications (1 year).
2. Experience building large-scale software applications in Java (1 year).
3. Experience coding in Swift to be able to ensure feature parity for iOS (1 year).
4. Experience coding in Kotlin to be able to ensure feature parity for Android (1 year).
5. Experience building and testing UI components using Marko JS (1 year).
6. Experience coding in React (1 year).
7. Experience coding in Node.js (1 year).
8. Experience utilizing Spark SQL skills to pull and process data from the data warehouse (1 year).
9. Experience with MongoDB (1 year).
10. Experience developing in a CI/CD environment at a large scale (1 year).
Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
