The Role:

Rakuten Kobo Ireland is seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract to join our exceptional Web team! You will be part of our Browse Team, responsible for developing and maintaining Kobo’s browsing experience. 

Required Skills: 

• Highly technical with excellent communication abilities. 

• Familiarity with modern eCommerce concepts such as SEO and Core Web Vitals. 

• Proven experience as a .NET Engineer. 

• Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, and RESTful services. 

• Ability to troubleshoot production issues. 

• Experience with React or a similar modern front-end framework. 

• Proficiency in MSSQL and NoSQL databases (preferably RavenDB). 

Preferred Skills: 

• Experience working in an Agile environment. 

• Familiarity with Docker, Solr, and Kubernetes. 

• Test automation using NUnit, Selenium WebDriver or Playwright. 

• Experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps. 

• Knowledge of Ruby or other scripting languages.
