The Role:
Rakuten Kobo Ireland is seeking a Software Engineer for a 12-month contract to join our exceptional Web team! You will be part of our Browse Team, responsible for developing and maintaining Kobo’s browsing experience.
Required Skills:
- Highly technical with excellent communication abilities.
- Familiarity with modern eCommerce concepts such as SEO and Core Web Vitals.
- Proven experience as a .NET Engineer.
- Strong knowledge of C#, ASP.NET MVC, WebAPI, and RESTful services.
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues.
- Experience with React or a similar modern front-end framework.
- Proficiency in MSSQL and NoSQL databases (preferably RavenDB).
Preferred Skills:
- Experience working in an Agile environment.
- Familiarity with Docker, Solr, and Kubernetes.
- Test automation using NUnit, Selenium WebDriver or Playwright.
- Experience with GitHub or Azure DevOps.
- Knowledge of Ruby or other scripting languages.
