Job purpose
The Software Development Leader (SWDL) is responsible for all software aspects of a project including software configuration management, software requirements, software integration, software releases and development environments, planning, technical oversight & execution of a specific project within BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems.
Key responsibilities
- Manages and drives the software team to achieve the project goals in terms of scope, timing and quality. Plans and tracks all software deliveries and related activities together with the software team members.
- Analyses the sources of software requirements and identify which requirements need to be implemented in the software.
- Assures that the Software project is run according to the valid development processes (Internal Process, ASPICE, ISO26262)
- Leads the software team and represents the software discipline towards the project team and the customer.
- Monitor and measure performance at a SW project level (metrics), reports status within the Project Team and towards Line Management. Have full understanding of the project status at any time, which enables the correct reporting to management.
- Represent the software project in any internal/external Audits.
- Conduct SW project level risk management. Identify project risks and make recommendations to minimize risk. Mitigate all risks and be aware of any opportunities.
- Support Change Management tasks.
- Negotiate timing and content of deliveries with customer, subcontractors and project team.
- Coordinate systems inputs needed for SW deliveries.
- Last responsible for the software work products.
What we're looking for
- B.S. in Engineering in Electrical, Electronics, Software, Mechatronics Engineering or Computer Engineering.
- Software development experience of at least 5 years
- Software Project Management experience of at least 3 years. Automotive and embedded experience preferred.
- Experience of working within a standardised software development process environment, preferably ASPICE.
- Experience with globally distributed teams.
- ISO 26262 awareness
- Willingness to travel internationally.
- Excellent organizational, time management and interpersonal skills is required.
- Fluency in English is required.
