Owl Labs is seeking a highly-motivated SDET to join our team. The SDET will be responsible for developing and refining test automation frameworks. The ideal candidate should have a lot of experience with programming languages and cloud providers. This role involves working closely with the QA and development teams to provide the automation capabilities on the different stages of testing. The candidate would have to be enthusiastic about continual learning and quality dedication with valuing and reaching set goals as per the team.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Create and enhance test automation frameworks deployable into established CI/CD pipelines.
- Develop with best practices in test automation like modular design and data-driven testing.
- Implement using Python to create efficient and reusable test scripts with high-quality code and maintainability.
- Run automated tests on real devices ADB (Android Debug Bridge) to interact with Android apps.
- Maintain automated tests for complex interconnected systems and collaborate with developers to understand application structure and test specifications.
- Apply computer vision technologies to enhance test automation, for example, the utilization of Tesseract for OCR in mobile apps.
- Develop and run image recognition tests to validate UI elements and ensure visual consistency across devices.
- Design, create, and support automated test scripts with Appium on Android mobile applications.
- Create comprehensive test plans and test cases from functional and non-functional requirements.
- Report testing progress, results, and issues to stakeholders on a regular basis.
QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
EXPERIENCE
- ADB experience with device administration and testing on Android devices.
- Proficiency in test automation through Python programming and scripting.
- Experience with computer vision technologies and Tesseract for Optical Character Recognition (OCR).
- Experience working on various test types, e.g., functional, regression, and performance tests.
- 3-5 years of experience
SKILLS
- Appium skills for mobile application testing.
- Knowledge of Xcode for iOS application testing (if applicable).
- Strong understanding of mobile application testing practices and standards.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Focus on detail and love for quality assurance.
- Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast paced team environment.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
