Your Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate SDET-2 (Performance Testing) to join our growing team. You will play a key role in ensuring that our platform and web applications are highly performant, stable, and scalable. Your focus will be on benchmarking, identifying bottlenecks, conducting capacity planning, and ensuring our products can handle peak loads without impacting user experience in production environments.
This role requires a strong technical background, a deep understanding of performance engineering, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams to achieve performance goals. If you love digging into performance issues and are obsessed with ensuring that nothing blows up in customer environments due to performance problems, this role is for you!
A Day in the Life
- Identify bottlenecks, optimize code and architecture for performance, and proactively work on improving system scalability and reliability
- Design, develop, and execute performance testing strategies using tools like JMeter and K6.
- Analyze performance test results, identify trends, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Conduct capacity planning to ensure the infrastructure can handle anticipated workloads.
- Be part of Architect Council
- Work closely with the DevOps/SRE team to monitor application performance in production environments and troubleshoot performance issues as they arise.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and technologies in performance testing and engineering.
- Contribute to establishing and maintaining the SDET COE standards, processes, and best practices.
What You Need
- 3-5 years of experience in performance testing and engineering.
- Proficiency in tools such as JMeter, K6, Locust, Gatling, or similar performance testing frameworks.
- Strong understanding of performance metrics, system monitoring, and optimization techniques.
- Proven experience with benchmarking, stress testing, and identifying performance bottlenecks in complex systems.
- Hands-on experience with API performance testing and performance tuning of both front-end and back-end systems.
- Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, JavaScript) to automate performance tests.
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and infrastructure performance tuning.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Bonus Skills: Experience with Kubernetes, microservices architecture, CI/CD pipelines, and APM tools
