Position Summary 

Engineering is a core discipline at F5 for many roles. As a software engineer specializing in products and services, you will bring a modern, agile development mindset to your work. As an SDE III, you will be responsible for developing, configuring, and enhancing Cloud IAM solutions through SailPoint. Incorporating engineering best practices into the design, coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and support of software and service solutions, you will work with other engineers and other teams to develop novel solutions and technologies. 

What You’ll Do 

• Apply modern engineering principles and practices to solution delivery and employ this rigor throughout the full software lifecycle; from initial concept and architecture through deployment, as well as while refining existing systems and solutions. 

• Demonstrate problem-solving skills and collaborate with fellow engineers to devise innovative solutions that align with technical standards and business requirements. 

• Follow engineering best practices, including all phases of the process from design to deployment. 

• Design, build, and maintain medium to complex solutions with a security first mindset. 

• Assist in team growth, including recruitment and onboarding of new team members. 

• Participate and provide leadership in translating requirements into scalable and robust software designs. 

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to SDE community to ensure that the solutions are scalable, performant, and maintainable 

• Proactively seek out opportunities for architectural improvements, optimizations, and innovations. 

• Responsible for upholding F5’s Business Code of Ethics and for promptly reporting violations of the Code or other company policies. 

• Responsible for designing and maintaining IAM systems that support business and security needs. 

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

•Strong subject matter expertise with Identity & Access Management (IAM) processes and tools like SailPoint SaaS Solution 

• Knowledge to develop identity management solutions that automate user lifecycle, optimize access requests, and implement security and compliance regulation through SailPoint. 

•Experience with one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, C/C++, Python, or JavaScript 

•Experience with Linux/Unix, Windows, scripting (with programming languages such as Bash, PowerShell, or Perl), SQL, LDAP, and web services 

•Familiarity with databases such as Oracle, Sybase, MSSQL, and MySQL 

• An ability to break down complex problems, identify gaps and risks, and provide reliable level of effort estimates. 

• Strong interpersonal skills including tact, diplomacy, and ability to maintain composure under pressure. 

• The flexibility to adapt to changing business needs, requirements, and priorities. 

• An excellent understanding of DevSecOps best practices. 

Qualifications 

• BS/BA or equivalent work experience 

• 5+ years engineering experience in supporting or implementing SailPoint IAM Solutions 

• Proven ability to develop and deliver software solutions. 

• Good knowledge of several high-level languages, experience with at least one low-level language preferred. 

• Experience working in agile and lean software development
