BlueCat Networks in Iceland is looking for a software developer to join our team. In this role, you will be working as part of an agile development team to implement new features and functionality in a network management solution used by some of the biggest companies in the world. You should have a good working knowledge of programming languages, be self-motivated, have the ability to learn new technologies and feel comfortable communicating with others.


Responsibilities

• Developing high-quality software, working in an agile environment

• Writing maintainable, high quality code

• Writing automatic unit and integration tests

• Participating in scrum activities, design meetings and code reviews


Skills and experience

• Strong problem-solving skills

• Good communication and team working skills

• Good English skills, both written and spoken

• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, IPv6 or other networking technologies is an advantage, but not required

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent


You will be working mainly in backend development, our technology stack consists mostly of C++ and python but we are also working with

• Docker

• Kubernetes

• React

• Cloud services such as AWS and Azure

• SQLite, PostgreSQL and SQL Server databases

• Git

• REST and OpenAPI


These technologies are used to implement, build and deliver the solution to customers which then install it on-premise in their own environment. The solution is then used by those customers to monitor and operate DNS/DHCP servers on the network, which will allow them to fully control their network configuration in a single place. Needless to say, proper management of the network is a critical component of almost every business.
