As a Software Developer, you will assist with the design, documentation, coding, unit testing, systems testing and deployment of software applications for the HVTI. You will work closely with physicians, nurses, researchers and other developers as you support IT projects and develop websites, reports and other business applications. This position allows you to utilize knowledge in the field to propel the institute forward.
A caregiver in this position works remotely (OH, FL or NV based only) from 8:00AM - 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
- Iterate with team members around analysis, design and development of software systems.
- Develop new software and proof/test the development to ensure production of a quality product.
- Work with Lead Developers, Lead Engineers and Senior Developers to ensure software development and engineering standards are met.
- Make recommendations to yield a more cost-effective product and better streamlined workflows while supporting team strategy in development approach.
- Observe operational and clinical workflow and work to build solutions around observed behaviors.
- Help translate clinical problems into innovative healthcare solutions.
- Provide technical support to other developers when project support is needed.
- Gather business and application specific requirements.
- Ensure all requirements are met and maintained within defined project scope and documented within documentation management system.
- Keep up with industry trends and bring new ideas and industry solutions to healthcare for a unique application.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Five years of experience in Software Development
- Experience in interfacing with internal and external customers
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- Bachelor’s Degree in MIS, Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience with hospital or medical systems
- Experience with Agile development processes including regular sprints, rapid iterations, and frequent user feedback
- Familiarity with bug tracking and enhancement request requirements documentation
- Experience with web development
- Familiarity with continuous integration principles and application/platform deployment best practices, including change control processes
- Familiarity with code review processes and constant peer feedback
- C#, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, HTML5 experience
- T-SQL (SQL Server), PL/SQL (Oracle), Snowflake, Entity Framework experience
- Working experience with SQL
- jQuery, Knockout.js, React with RTK, and Bootstrap experience
- Git, Visual Studio, Visual Studio Code experience
