Job Description

The Security, Performance & Observability team is dedicated to ensuring the robustness of IFS Cloud services. Our focus spans critical domains such as persistent database management, service architecture including installation, monitoring, logging, and authentication solutions. Currently, we're expanding our team and looking for an enthusiastic Observability Architect to work with us.

As an architect in our team, you will involve with

High-Level System Design & Architecture:

• Define the architectural vision and ensure that observability considerations are integrated into the system design.
• Ensure that monitoring, logging, and performance testing fit into the overall architecture.

Guiding Observability & Performance Strategies:

• Define the best practices and architectural standards for monitoring and logging across IFS deployments.
• Ensure DevOps engineers follow a standardized approach to observability that aligns with business and technical goals.
• Provide input on the selection of monitoring/logging tools and frameworks based on architectural needs.

Collaboration with DevOps and Development Teams:

• Work with DevOps engineers to integrate monitoring solutions early in the development cycle.
• Ensure that performance tuning, logging, and benchmarking strategies align with application design principles.

Performance & Reliability Architecture:

• Define scalability and reliability strategies for cloud/remote deployments.
• Provide architectural solutions for handling high availability, failover, and disaster recovery.

Automation and Tooling Strategy:

• Architect and recommend automation frameworks for monitoring, logging, and alerting in Kubernetes/Cloud environments.
• Work with DevOps engineers to define Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automated observability solutions.

Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Sharing:

• Communicate architectural decisions and trade-offs to business and technical stakeholders.
• Conduct presentations, training, and documentation on observability best practices for development teams.
• Ensure that teams are aligned on architectural direction and technical decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications (preferred):
  • Azure Solution Architect certification
  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
  • Observability or Performance Engineering certifications (e.g., CNCF Prometheus, Grafana certification)
• 10+ years of experience in software development, architecture, or DevOps roles.
• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architectures.
• Experience designing and implementing observability solutions (monitoring, logging, tracing) using:
  • Grafana, Prometheus, ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana), Filebeat
• Expertise Azure and Kubernetes-based deployments.
• Strong scripting/automation skills in Python, Bash, or Golang for monitoring and infrastructure automation.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipeline design and optimization (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, ArgoCD).
• Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Ansible.
• Knowledge of high availability, fault tolerance, scalability, and disaster recovery architectures.

• Strategic thinking to define and implement observability and performance best practices.
• Excellent communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, developers, and DevOps engineers.
• Mentorship and leadership experience, guiding DevOps teams on best practices.
• Problem-solving mindset, capable of diagnosing complex performance issues.
