Position Overview 

BGB Group is transforming healthcare marketing through innovative, social-first strategies. As a Senior Social Strategist, you will play a pivotal role in guiding pharmaceutical brand clients through the complexities of social media marketing, helping them embrace the potential of these platforms while addressing regulatory challenges. From strategy development to execution, you will design solutions that empower clients to connect authentically with their audiences and drive meaningful results. 

This role demands a blend of strategic vision, creative insight, and leadership skills. You will collaborate across departments and contribute to establishing industry-leading best practices in healthcare social media marketing. 

We are looking for a creative thinker with comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms, emerging trends, analytics, target audiences, and healthcare marketing. 

PLEASE NOTE: This is a hybrid position requiring onsite collaboration. The role will be based out of our office located in New York City. All candidates must be willing to commute into the office on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Development 

  • Craft innovative social media strategies using audience insights, platform expertise, and content frameworks. 
  • Address regulatory challenges, ensuring compliance while delivering impactful results. 
  • Develop frameworks that define measurable metrics and optimize consumer engagement touchpoints.

Community Moderation 

  • Develop MLR friendly response matrices to manage and guide community interactions effectively. 
  • Daily moderation of social media comments to foster positive engagement while managing potential risks. 
  • Oversee community management strategies to ensure alignment with brand objectives and compliance.

Content & Community Management 

  • Oversee content development, ensuring alignment with content pillars and platform best practices. 
  • Develop community engagement strategies that build authentic and meaningful interactions.

Insights & POV Development 

  • Perform social listening to identify trends, audience behaviors, and competitive opportunities. 
  • Deliver actionable POVs on platform updates and their implications for client strategies. 
  • Proactively identify emerging trends to keep clients ahead of the curve.

MLR (Med/Legal/Regulatory) Navigation 

  • Attend and guide teams through MLR reviews, ensuring social content adheres to compliance standards. 
  • Proactively address regulatory concerns to create confidence in executing pharmaceutical social strategies. 
  • Build and maintain comfort with clients and MLR, navigating the complexities of regulated pharma social work. 

Crisis Management 

  • Provide strategic recommendations for managing crises while maintaining audience trust and brand integrity. 

Client Collaboration 

  • Lead client-facing meetings to present strategies, insights, and performance results. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor, fostering confidence in innovative social strategies. 

Cross-Functional Leadership 

  • Collaborate across internal teams, aligning creative, regulatory, and campaign execution elements. 
  • Mentor junior team members, fostering professional growth and enhancing team output. 

Campaign Oversight 

  • Ensure all content meets platform specifications and passes compliance checks. 
  • Monitor and optimize campaign performance, adapting strategies for maximum impact. 

Best Practices & Thought Leadership 

  • Develop playbooks and case studies to drive thought leadership and share best practices. 
  • Stay informed on social trends and innovations, sharing actionable insights with clients and teams. 

Requirements 

  • Core Marketing Skills: Proficiency in writing, presentation creation, analysis, and social campaign development within regulated markets. 
  • Strategic Expertise: Experience crafting audience engagement plans, including content pillars and response frameworks. 
  • Comprehensive Social Vision: Ability to identify and execute opportunities across patient communities, influencer collaborations, and media-driven initiatives. 
  • Social Media Proficiency: Deep knowledge of platform-specific policies, best practices, and emerging trends. 
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to extract actionable insights from brand landscapes and social listening. 
  • Team Collaboration: Proven success collaborating within cross-functional teams. 
  • Client Engagement: Skilled in presenting innovative strategies and inspiring client buy-in in regulated industries. 

Differentiators 

  • Hands-on experience managing social media ad campaigns and working with influencers. 
  • Background in a regulated industry(s) with direct involvement in legal and compliance oversight. 
  • Expertise in creating diverse content formats across various media types. 
  • Social listening expertise with tools like Brandwatch, Meltwater, or similar platforms. 
  • Strong ability to effectively engage and influence senior leadership 
  • Exceptional balance between advocating for ideas and empowering others to execute effectively.

Salary Range: $85,000 - $120,000 

The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
