Sleep Expert / Sleep Scientist (Contract)

We’re the creator of BetterSleep: the app that has helped more than 65 million people sleep and feel better across the globe. The app features a tool to track and record your sleep, over 100 ambient sounds, relaxing music, guided meditations and sleep stories, available in over six different languages! Our mission is to help people change their lives with a better night's sleep. 

What are we looking for?

A Sleep Expert, Sleep Scientist, or Doctor with an understanding of the benefits of and experience writing calming, original meditation content that align with our brand's mission to help people relax, de-stress, and sleep better. This role involves writing meditations and designing meditation programs around varied themes from Daylight Savings (circadian rhythms) to ADD or other conditions. 

The ideal candidate would also record their own meditations, however, this is not a requirement. 

 The candidate should have a deep understanding of meditation practices and the ability to write in a clear, comforting, and accessible tone.

Responsibilities

• Write meditation scripts per month tailored to relaxation, mindfulness, or sleep.
• Record high-quality audio of written meditations using a calming and soothing tone.
• Collaborate with the content team to align meditations with our overall campaign themes and goals.
• Conduct research on mindfulness, meditation trends, and audience needs to craft effective content.
• Edit and revise scripts and recordings based on feedback.

• Studies in mindfulness, psychology, creative writing, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
• Experience writing meditation content or similar (portfolio or samples required).
• Strong vocal delivery with the ability to record calming audio.
• Familiarity with meditation practices and techniques.
• Impeccable grammar, spelling, and English communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to our tone and style while maintaining creativity.
• Flexibility, creativity, and a proven ability to meet deadlines.

$0.26 per word, based on experience, expertise, and the scope of the project.
