This position will focus on DevSecOps deployment automation for development and production environments across multiple classification levels. The SRE will be responsible for building, securing, and operating multi-tenant runtime environments deployed across multiple infrastructure configurations including AWS GovCloud, VMware, and on-premises environments. The SRE will work closely with Cybersecurity, Operations, Development, and Test teams to maintain a consistently secure and available environment for all customer missions. This position requires a solid background in automated deployment both in cloud and local deployments. Demonstrated experience with deployment and management using DevSecOps orchestration is required. Experience with container orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, etc., is preferred. This person will be highly motivated, focused, and proficient in implementing infrastructure and platform runtime environments. This role will align under the Operations Support team at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
The successful senior level engineer in this position will have a breadth of experience in with automated infrastructure and platform configuration (IaC and PaC), provisioning of cloud instance infrastructure, and building/maintaining runtime environments, operating systems, and platform services. Applicants should be familiar with common DevSecOps and container orchestration technologies, multiple Operating Systems, and deployment and orchestration methodologies to include supporting full CI/CD toolchains. Applicants will need to have delivered and maintained runtime environments for use by developers and deployed applications in classified datacenters and/or cloud computing infrastructures. You will have the opportunity to participate in real-world, cutting-edge Space Situational Awareness systems which are changing how the Space community is doing business.
Position Description:
- Using enterprise automation tools (such as Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, etc.) to deploy and maintain complex environments like IaC (Infrastructure as code) and PaC (Platform as code).
- Employing the latest technologies to support CI/CD in virtualized and/or cloud environments
- Deploying and supporting various environments within AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Deployment and support of common on-prem infrastructure orchestration technologies targeting infrastructures based on VMware or similar hypervisors.

Minimum Security Clearance:
- Active Department of Defense Top Secret Security Clearance.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related technical discipline.
- 6+ of computer systems design, integration, and maintenance, with at least 2 years of experience with DevOps orchestration.
- Experience working with common cloud infrastructure providers, private cloud infrastructure, or enterprise virtualization platforms. Examples include AWS, Azure, VMware Cloud Foundation, Openstack etc.
- Automation experience using technologies such as Bash, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Packer, and Puppet.
- In-depth knowledge of security and operating overhead to streamline performance with Linux-based operating systems.
- Knowledge and understanding of containers and container orchestration.
- Ability to work closely with the Cybersecurity teams to ensure successful and compliant implementation and delivery via automation.
- High level of self-motivation, ability to define, manage, and prioritize tasks in a team environment requiring minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, enjoy customer interactions
- Ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment with changing priorities
- Possess a high degree of originality, creativity, initiative, and willingness to learn new tools and concepts quickly
- Excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Active DoD IAT Level II or III certification (e.g., CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
- Position requires the selected candidate to hold an active Department of Defense Top Secret/SCI security clearance which requires US citizenship while working in support of a government contract.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Direct hands-on experience with common container orchestration technologies – Kubernetes, OpenShift, Rancher, GKS, AWS EKS, etc.
- Knowledge of monitoring tools such as Splunk and Elk Elastic Stack.
- Active and direct experience with securing/hardening systems to DoD standards via automation.
- Experience with industry standard patch maintenance systems such as Satellite and WSUS.

$104,200.00 - $182,400.00
