Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

DB Global Technology is Deutsche Bank’s technology center in Central and Eastern Europe. Opened in January 2014, the Bucharest office is constantly expanding.

Deutsche Bank is looking for experienced Site Reliability Engineers to operate and scale custom-built mission-critical products for engineering, test, and production. Examples of these products include custom-build banking products used by millions of customers in Germany. We have no shortage of hard problems and challenges. The ideal candidate will be flexible, possess broad skills across product operations and software development, and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment. He or she should be a self-starter, self-motivator and possess ingenuity to excel at this position.

Responsibilities:

• Operate and scale our suite of business critical products and services to ensure stability based on existing ITIL Service Operations processes.
• Closely collaborate with Software Engineers to create highly operable and maintainable products.
• Monitor and provide effective response to alerts including detecting and filtering events, event correlation and prioritization.
• Engage in the full software development lifecycle of services -- from design to operation and refinement.
• Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems.
• Availability to provide on-call/in shifts and end-user support to engineering for products.
• Engage in operations related communications with up/downstream applications.
• Understand and comply to regulatory processes and internal policies.

Skills:

• Experience of working in Production Support team favorable
• Deep Understanding of the HTTP protocol and REST APIs
• Working experience with AppDynamics, and Splunk
• General understanding of iOS and Android operating systems
• Good Understanding of Oracle databases / SQL
• Experience with source code and version control tools such as Subversion or Git
• Experience with workflow and issue management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems/IT or engineering
• Systems Administration and Site Reliability Engineering skills
• Java and Spring Boot webservice development experience
• Swift and/or Kotlin mobile app development experience
• Understanding of OAuth 2.0 framework
• Experience with continuous integration pipelines and tools
• Focus on performance bottlenecks and performance improvement techniques
• Must be comfortable working with mission critical and complex systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities
• Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with customers, peers, management etc. in both formal and informal situations
• Languages: English (fluent), German (nice to have)
