Job Summary:
The Site Master & Capacity Planner will be responsible for maintaining and disseminating an accurate and detailed capacity plan in accordance with our site Master Production Schedule (MPS) and may contribute directly to creating and maintaining the MPS as needed. This role will develop, maintain, and improve planning tools, models, processes, systems, reports, and data to ensure that personnel in various functional areas have the information they need to plan their daily activities. This role will regularly coordinate with commercial leads, project managers, technology transfer engineers, manufacturing leads, QC/QA staff, and other key personnel to ensure the production plan is feasible and meets the needs of internal and external customers. This role will also identify, analyze, and solve various operational problems.
Position Responsibilities:
Tasks may include, but are not limited to:
- Build, maintain, and improve reports and dashboards to communicate production schedules, set plant operational targets, monitor execution, and disseminate Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to site and corporate leadership
- Work with Planner(s), Project Managers and Area Managers to support, troubleshoot, and maintain site master production schedule and its system framework for manufacturing, technology transfer and development activities
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and support our site master production schedule and its system framework for manufacturing and development activities, working with our production planner(s) as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, area managers and subject matter experts to resolve scheduling conflicts
- Coordinate with commercial and global supply chain leaders to ensure timely data reviews and submissions for our site and company Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process
- Lead/support our site/global monthly site S&OP meeting, presenting statuses, projections and insights to our site leadership team, ultimately aligning on a consensus forecast
- Drive or support the establishment, maintenance, improvement, and execution of documented standardized processes which connect demand to supply in a manner that ensures cGMP manufacturing readiness and on-time delivery of project deliverables
- Automate, consolidate, and simplify data processes
- Coordinate with project managers and subject matter experts to resolve and prevent scheduling conflicts, risks, and capacity constraints, ensuring smooth operational execution
- Lead or support Supply Chain problem-solving initiatives
- Coordinate/Liaise with functional area leaders regularly to vet schedule feasibility and drive toward timely achievement of production readiness milestones
- Capture and integrate production requirements into our planning process to improve execution reliability
- Conduct studies and analyses toward advising site leadership of capacity concerns or needed process improvements
- Support and drive continuous improvement efforts as needed
- Work with tools such as Power BI, Excel/VBA, ERP systems, SmartSheet, SQL Server, and more to extract, clean, organize, analyze, transform, and synthesize data to complete job tasks and goals
- Establish standard templates for process workflows with input from appropriate subject matter experts so that resource requirements and planning timelines are clearly defined for specific project activities.
- Coordinate key operations planning activities in collaboration with the assigned functional area and supporting departments to ensure readiness and on-time delivery of project deliverables. Specific responsibilities include:
- Coordination between assigned functional area, Quality Assurance (QA), and supporting departments to track creation, review, and approval of controlled documents according to project schedules.
- Coordination between assigned functional area, Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MST), and ERP Production and Capacity Planning to forecast material requirements and develop material purchasing plans based on project demand.
- Coordination between Procurement, Warehouse, MST, QC, and QA Supplier to ensure completion of testing and release of raw materials.
- Coordination between MST, QA, Manufacturing, and Technical Operations departments to ensure equipment and room readiness according to project schedules.
- Attend Product Development Team (PDT) meetings as appropriate – communicate planning updates to the PDT and collaborate with Project Managers to maintain a current understanding of project updates and shifts in schedules.
- Use / develop tools and reports that could improve planning workflow and readiness efforts.
- Manage monthly scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Calibration Work Orders, assign all Work Order Tasks within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)/Computerized Calibration Management System (CCMS).
- Manage unscheduled Maintenance Requests within the CMMS/CCMS.
- Track the status of all identified Critical PM tasks, analyze and report data on PM Work Orders such as: overdue, backlog, received/ completed statistics
- Perform scheduled tasks on time without supervision
Minimum Requirements:
- Intermediate skill or above in Microsoft Excel
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to effectively prioritize multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- ERP experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Strong general computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
- Strong initiative and ability to motivate colleagues diplomatically.
- Ability to work collaboratively with integrity in a team environment.
- Ability to read, analyze, interpret, and convey technical information with precision and clarity.
- Understanding of production and supply chain planning principles and best practices

Preferred Requirements:
- Subject matter expertise in data analysis, statistical methods, or supply chain planning including strong experience using data storage systems and data manipulation tools and methods
- Ability to lead large improvement projects and conduct S&OP meetings with site or global leadership.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Biological Sciences, Operation Management or related field.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel
- Experience with SQL and/or relational databases.
- Experience with SmartSheet and Power BI.
- Experience with computer programming.

Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year.
