About the location / department
This position will be based in Santos & Paranaguá, two of Brazil's most strategic and dynamic port locations. The Ships Agency Operations Supervisor will report to the Ships Agency Operations Manager.
Who you are:
You are a proactive, detail-oriented professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for operational excellence. You have experience in ships agency operations or a related maritime field, with a solid understanding of port regulations and procedures. You can work under pressure, solve problems efficiently, and ensure that operations run smoothly while maintaining high-quality service standards. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you will be working closely with both internal teams and external partners.
Required experience and skills:
- Experience in ships agency operations, logistics, or maritime services.
- Knowledge of port regulations and procedures.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and solve operational challenges efficiently.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese (spoken and written).
What you will be doing:
- Overseeing port operations in Santos & Paranaguá, ensuring service excellence and efficiency.
- Managing and guiding the Ships Agency Operators team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Ensuring that all port calls comply with Wilhelmsen's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring operational profitability.
- Selecting and evaluating vendors and suppliers, ensuring quality and compliance with procurement policies.
- Collaborating with the Ships Agency sales team to identify new business opportunities.
- Ensuring proper pre-funding is received before executing a port call.
- Managing disbursement accounts and ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
- Supporting the onboarding and training of new employees.
