Services Operations Specialist

The Opportunity:

In this role, you will report to the Operation Specialist Manager and will work closely with the Avantor’s Lab and Production Services professionals to serve our customers by performing customized, mission-based lab work and research protocols that help return time back to science.

Location: Tarrytown, NY

Shift: First Shift Monday–Friday

Hourly Rate: $26-$28 (plus mileage toll and parking reimbursement)

This is not a work-from-home career. The ideal employee should reside in this greater Westchester County, NY area and will be responsible for traveling between multiple locations and must be able to travel outside of New York up to 5% of the time.

Mileage reimbursement for miles driven from your door to the client location. Overnight travel assignment bonus program.

What we’re looking for 

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or undergraduate degree in business or science related field is a plus.

• Experience:

• 3 -5+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/Inside Sales, etc. a plus

• Collaboration Tool: Microsoft Teams experience preferred 

• Valid Driver’s License and transportation required; CDL a plus.

• Prior experience with VWR/Avantor products and services a plus.

• Cross referencing and inside sales experience a plus.

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team is a crucial part of the Avantor Services group serving over 500 customers in biopharma, pharmaceutical, educational, industrial, and high-tech industries with customizable, flexible solutions and end-to-end laboratory operations support.

In this role you will:

• Primary Services Operations Specialist resource for Avantor team located onsite at customer location in Tarrytown, NY.

• Perform all duties associated with operations of Site Services.

• Coordinate and leads team efforts and performs work related to customer requirements.

• Work closely with management to complete projects such as Standard Operating Procedures, Scopes of Work, Standard Work, On-The-Job Training, and other assorted tasks along with direct customer interfacing relative to job functions.

• Interface directly with customer Point-of-Contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers etc. to procure lab supplies and material.

• Utilize Avantor and customer computer systems: SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager and/or other customer specific applications.

• Require periodic commuting to customer sites in New York City and/or overnight travel to Skillman, NJ.

• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on all service offerings.

• Provide SAP Support (Full customer services, credit rebills, invoice scrubbing).

• Modify and maintains quality metrics and key performance indicators.

• Manage a budget related to expense reports.

• Meet revenue, TOE, safety, performance and quality goals and objectives

• Create programs for enhanced service efficiencies.

Pay Transparency:

The expected pre-tax pay for this position is

$54,600.00 - $91,000.00

Actual pay may differ depending on relevant factors such as prior experience and geographic location.
