Position Purpose:

The SEO team has two different manager roles open. Please see each position purpose below.

1) At The Home Depot, we understand that an exceptional customer experience begins with how easily customers - and search engines - find our products and content. We are looking for a strategic and technically minded SEO Manager to lead initiatives focused on optimizing site structure through taxonomy and attribution enhancements to drive discoverability and organic performance on homedepot.com. In this role, you will lead a team dedicated to enhancing the organization of our site in close partnership with Online Merchants. Your work will directly impact how customers navigate our website and how search engines crawl and rank our content, playing a vital role in delivering best-in-class shopping experiences.

2) The Manager, SEO is responsible for defining and implementing strategic initiatives to drive organic traffic and improve the discoverability of content on homedepot.com. This position leads a team focused on implementing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) best practices through partnership with Merchandising, Marketing, Engineering, and other external partners. The manager will provide thought leadership and work to implement capabilities contributing to advancing SEO systems and practices within the company.

The Manager, SEO plays a critical role delivering product decisioning support at every stage of the customer journey. This leader advocates for customers by ensuring the delivery of consistent, discoverable, and high-converting experiences across all digital touchpoints. Additionally, the Manager, SEO is responsible for capturing market share and increasing The Home Depot’s visibility in search results through full-scale SEO initiatives, driving business growth and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • 40% - Business Collaboration - Manage SEO related workstreams across enterprise level projects, ensuring that all necessary project deliverables are delivered on time and within expectations throughout the project
  • 15% - Project Management - Outline project goals, dependencies, resources, and risks of planned projects. Includes establishment of business cases supporting new projects with projected benefits.
  • 20% - Relationship Management - Manage direct or indirect reporting relationships to ensure assigned resources are adequately trained and performing at the required level. Responsible for guiding and directing associated resources in order to meet project deliverables
  • 25% - Training and Development - Establish processes, conduct training/knowledge sharing necessary to maintain newly delivered capabilities that can be handed off to capability owners at the end of projects. Conducting research and professional development necessary to stay ahead of changes in the SEO industry or in expanding existing technical capabilities supporting the SEO team.
     

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:

  • This Position typically reports to the Sr. Manager SEO
  • This Position has 5 Direct Reports

Travel Requirements:

  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 5% of the time.
     

Physical Requirements:

  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions, there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
     

Working Conditions:

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
     

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be legally permitted to work in the United States
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Working knowledge of presentation software (e.g., Microsoft PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of analytical/statistics software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R, Stata)
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated project management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • 5+ years of experience in ecommerce or search engine optimization (SEO) with a proven track record of driving results.
  • Prior experience with enterprise level SEO, preferably in an ecommerce environment
  • Experience with enterprise level SEO tools, such as Google Search Console, Lumar, Brightedge, and others
  • Experiencing managing others – directly or indirectly
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills needed to develop team resources, build cross-functional partnerships, and to effectively communicate SEO concepts to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to deal with large amounts of data
  • Strong decision making and problem-solving skills

Minimum Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and/or GED.
     

Preferred Education:

  • The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
