Job Description
What we’re looking for:
Informa’s Aviation group, Aviation Week Network, is actively seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer with extensive experience and proficiency in React and Node.js. This is an immediate opportunity to join our dynamic team.
Role Accountability and Duties:
- Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable web applications using JavaScript and modern frameworks, specifically React and Node.js
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following industry best practices
- Optimize application performance, ensuring fast load times and smooth user experiences
- Implement and maintain API integrations with third-party services and internal systems
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues in a timely manner, ensuring minimal disruption to the end users
- Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring adherence to coding standards
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies and incorporate them into your work as appropriate.
- Mentor and guide junior developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative team environment.
- Perform additional tasks as required.
Qualifications
What you bring to the team:
- BS/BA, preferably in Computer Science or other technical, analysis, or mathematics subject area (will consider experience in lieu of a degree for highly qualified applicants) preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on React and Node.js
- Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale web applications
- In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern front-end frameworks
- Experience with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating front-end interfaces with backend services
- Strong understanding of version control systems, particularly Git
- Experience working in an Agile, fast-paced development environment
- Experience identifying and understanding organizational and user requirements and specifications and translating those into quality code
- Ability to interact professionally and effectively with other team members and customers (technical and non-technical)
- Must be able to think creatively and analyze/solve difficult problems with logic and tenacity
- A demonstrated ability to work independently on complex tasks with little direction, supervision, or management oversight
What would be even better:
- Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
- Strong understanding of database management systems, including MongoDB, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
- Extensive experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Expertise in microservices architecture
- Advanced skills in Python programming
- Solid experience with PHP development
- A passion for things that fly
