We are looking for a Senior Voice Designer to join our multidisciplinary audio team. Under the guidance of the Lead Voice Designer, you will play a crucial role in shaping the auditory experience of BioShock 4 by managing and crafting the narrative aspects of the project’s audio design. You will collaborate with the team to manage how voice work interacts with the game world, and characters, and how all of that affects the player's overall experience. You will be a key figure in blending creative and technical elements to ensure that the voice work enhances the emotional depth and immersion of the game's story while meeting the game's technical and storytelling needs.
Job Details:
- Help select the voice actors for characters, determining which voices fit the game's tone and characters' personalities.
- Work with voice actors to direct the performances; guide actors on how to deliver lines emotionally, adjust tone, pacing, and ensure consistency with the game's overall atmosphere and story.
- Attend and track recording sessions in studio and at Mocap shoots to assure the highest quality audio standards are upheld.
- Collaborate with the audio team to make sure voice recordings are integrated into the game environment ensuring voices sound natural and clear within all game contexts (combat, dialogue, etc.).
- Oversee the editing process, ensuring that narrative assets are well-paced, clean, and consistent with the soundscape.
- Create/record any additional voice assets as needed.
- Ensure that dialogue is perfectly synchronized with character animation and in-game events.
- Work closely with Game Design and Narrative Teams to ensure that the voiceover matches the game’s storyline, world-building, and emotional beats.
- Fine-tune and troubleshoot all narrative voice work and dialogue making sure there is consistency in tone and style across the entire game.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Voice Designer in AAA, preferably on a narrative-driven or story-heavy game.
- A deep understanding of how storytelling works in games and how narrative can be shaped through voice acting.
- Experience working directly with professional voice talent.
- Ability to create emotional depth and drive character development through voice work.
- Previous experience in directing voice performances that align narrative goals.
- Ability to provide clear, constructive feedback and guide performances to match the intended emotional tone and story needs; coaching actors on how best to deliver lines authentically with the right emotion.
- Understanding of the technical aspects of voice acting, such as how pitch, tone, pacing, and volume contribute to character portrayal and story development.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback on script dialogue to ensure it works well when spoken aloud and fits the voice acting.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to collaborate with writers and narrative designers to solve challenges related to character voice consistency, emotional depth, or dialogue flow.
- Experience managing feedback loops from multiple stakeholders.
- Good understanding of the basics of audio recording, editing, and mixing.
- Proficiency with industry-standard audio tools and software; Wwise, UE5, DAWs like ProTools and Reaper.
- Experience managing or mentoring other voice designers, ensuring work is completed on time and within scope.
- Ability to think outside the box to find creative solutions for complex narrative challenges.
- Keen eye for detail, checking consistency in character voices and narrative progression over the course of the game.
- Ability to effectively manage creative differences between team members and help mediate to reach a cohesive narrative vision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to confidently advocate for your ideas while remaining open to and respectfully considering diverse perspectives.
- Proven ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds and work styles, fostering a constructive and inclusive team environment.

This is a fully remote role that may be based anywhere in the United States. Below are the expected salary and wage ranges for applicants based in locations where the pay transparency law is in effect:
Colorado: $70,000 and $130,000 per year
California: $90,000 and $140,000 per year
New York State (inclusive of New York City): $90,000 and $140,000 per year
Washington: $70,000 and $130,000 per year
Base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards and eligibility to participate in our 401(K) plan, in addition to a full range of medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees will also receive 14 paid holidays per calendar year, are eligible to earn a minimum of 15 days of vacation leave per year (subject to proration based on start date during the calendar year) and will receive 10 sick days per calendar year. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
