Newsweek is looking for a multifaceted Graphic Designer with strong experience in branding, marketing, and editorial layout to join our creative team. This is a unique opportunity for a versatile visual storyteller who can execute high-level conceptual creative across multiple mediums—including print, digital, and social platforms—while maintaining a deep respect for journalistic integrity and visual excellence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Bring brand and editorial stories to life through high-impact visual design, ensuring consistency and creativity across all platforms.
- Work across departments (editorial, marketing, product, social media) to craft visually compelling materials that align with Newsweek’s visual identity and engage a diverse, global audience.
- Take creative ownership of projects from concept to final execution, whether it’s a magazine spread, infographics, charts, bespoke digital imagery, presentations, logos, event collateral or a complete branding refresh for sponsored/commercial projects.
- Develop original design solutions for editorial features, sponsored content, events, videos, and marketing initiatives.
- Design magazine layouts that meet the highest standards of editorial storytelling, combining typography, photography, and illustration in innovative ways.
- Maintain and expand Newsweek’s brand identity across all print and digital platforms. Including the upkeep of branding and style guidelines for both internal and external use.
- Brainstorm and collaborate with editorial, marketing, product, and social media teams to produce creative assets for advertising, promotion, and social campaigns.
- Produce bespoke graphics, charts, maps, infographics, and data visualizations for feature stories, newsletters, and social media.
- Design event visuals, logos, web assets, and other cross-platform promotional materials.
- Perform photo editing and post-production, ensuring consistency in image quality and adherence to editorial standards.
- Support ongoing asset management, helping maintain internal databases of design files, images, and templates
QUALIFICATIONS
- 4+ years of design experience with a strong portfolio covering branding, marketing, and editorial design.
- Expert understanding in Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop); intermediate/advanced skill with Figma, Canva and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written and spoken English; flexibility in working hours.
- Good communication skills for interacting with stakeholders, co-workers, and explaining design concepts to a general audience.
- Strong grasp of layout, typography, colour theory, and visual hierarchy.
- Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with AI design tools and U.S. media/news environments is a plus.
