About the team

UX Research at Angi is part of a multi-disciplinary team of UX designers, researchers, and content creators. We help build innovative home services capabilities and experiences for both homeowners and service professionals that span the digital and physical worlds—from the details on a screen to in-person, human-to-human interactions, and everything in between. Our job is to redefine expectations around what’s possible in the home services industry by creating simple, seamless solutions to complex, previously unsolved problems.

We value exploration, rapid iteration, and attention to detail. Our teams are hands-on in every phase of a project lifecycle from discovery and definition through detail design, release, and ongoing optimization. We have deep knowledge across all aspects of Design and are comfortable working with an interdisciplinary team to produce solutions that work for both sides of our marketplace, our homeowners and service professional network.

What you’ll do

At Angi, we believe in creating products that truly make a difference in people's lives, especially when it comes to homeownership and home improvement. As a Senior UX Researcher, you’ll be at the heart of our mission to uncover what our users need, how they think, and what they care about. Using a mix of qualitative and quantitative research methods, you’ll dive deep into the experiences of homeowners and users of the Angi platform, discovering valuable insights that will shape the future of our product.

In this role, you’ll explore key pain points and unmet needs, helping us uncover opportunities to improve the Angi experience. Your curiosity and empathy will guide your research, ensuring we always put the user first. By synthesizing both qualitative and quantitative data, you’ll help us build a holistic understanding of user challenges and define ways to create smoother, more meaningful experiences across our platform.

You’ll be responsible for defining how we evaluate and measure our current user experiences, identifying areas where we can strengthen our connection with customers. Your findings will directly influence how we evolve our product and prioritize new features that address real user needs.

We’re looking for someone who is excited to learn the ins and outs of homeownership and collaborate daily with cross-functional teams from business, marketing, product, and engineering. Your work will not only shape the product, but also foster a culture of empathy, user-centricity, and systems thinking across the organization.

  • Focus on deeply understanding user needs, behaviors, and motivations across different user groups to guide product and design decisions.
  • Co-lead research projects, utilizing a mix of qualitative and quantitative methods to explore both user behaviors and attitudes, as well as product observations.
  • Conduct research that spans qualitative feedback, usability testing, and data analysis to continuously improve the user experience.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure research aligns with business objectives and customer needs.
  • Advocate for users by synthesizing research findings into actionable insights, ensuring they are directly relevant to product initiatives.
  • Partner with teams across product, engineering, marketing, and design to align research with organizational goals and integrate insights throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Apply research best practices to ensure high-quality, rigorous work, and guide UX designers on running self-service research when appropriate.
  • Work with UX Metrics to track product changes over time, measuring the impact of product releases on user behavior, and providing data-backed insights combined with qualitative understanding to inform design and product decisions

Who you are

  • You have 5+ years of UX research experience, ideally in a two-sided marketplace or B2C environment. Bonus if you’re familiar with or excited to dive into the home improvement space!
  • You’re skilled in both qualitative (interviews, diary studies, card sorting, etc.) and quantitative (surveys, A/B testing, statistical analysis) research methods, with a strong understanding of when and how to apply them effectively across projects of varying scale and complexity.
  • You’re data-savvy and experienced in analyzing large datasets, conducting statistical analysis, and deriving actionable insights that tell a clear story.
  • You excel at co-creating and co-leading research initiatives, strategically aligning your work to influence product strategy and drive impactful UX design.
  • You thrive in cross-functional collaboration with product, design, engineering, and business teams, ensuring research aligns with organizational goals and supports collective learning.
  • You’re equally comfortable working independently or within a team, managing multiple projects while maintaining strong communication with stakeholders and team members.
  • You have excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to present complex findings clearly and influence stakeholders to make informed, user-centered decisions.
  • You’re passionate about understanding user needs and aligning research with business goals to create meaningful impact.
  • You take initiative, adapt quickly to changing priorities, and solve problems creatively to meet evolving business and user needs.
