Jam City Carlsbad is seeking a talented and visionary Senior UI Artist with a deep passion for mobile game development and a proven track record in the field. We're looking for someone who showcases premium artistry, thrives in an agile, collaborative environment, and possesses strong problem-solving skills. As a Senior UI Artist, you will play a crucial role in crafting visually stunning and user-centric interfaces that elevate the player experience across a wide range of mobile casual games.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design and iterate on UI concepts, mock-ups, and game flows using industry-standard tools.
• Create visually appealing, user-friendly 2D game assets with a focus on usability and mobile game best practices.
• Develop all aspects of the User Interface, including mockups, wireframes, icons, animations, UI style guides, and supporting documentation.
• Design clear and engaging UI elements optimized for various fixed aspect ratios and diverse game themes.
• Collaborate closely with the Art Director to establish and maintain UI style guides, ensuring consistency across all game titles.
• Work with Designers and Tech Artists to ensure seamless integration and accurate representation of UI elements within the game.
• Continuously explore and integrate new technologies and design trends to enhance the UI experience.
• Adapt to changing project requirements with creativity and agility, ensuring the UI remains engaging and relevant.
• Adapt to different design styles and aesthetics as needed for various projects, ensuring a cohesive visual experience across different game titles.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of practical experience in art/design, specifically within interactive media and mobile games.
• Strong graphic design skills, including sketching, wireframing, and storyboarding.
• In-depth knowledge of UI design best practices and interaction design principles, particularly for mobile platforms.
• Expertise in translating flowcharts and wireframes into engaging, visually polished UI systems.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with producers and designers to define player flows and wireframes.
• Proficiency in industry-standard design tools (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, FIGMA).
• Experience with motion graphics, compositing, and special effects is a significant advantage.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate design concepts visually.
• Ability to deliver high-quality work efficiently, iterating to achieve optimal design solutions.
• A deep passion for gaming and a strong desire to contribute to the development of top-tier mobile games.
• Additional skills in drawing, illustration, or 3D art are advantageous.
• Excellent organizational and time management abilities are essential.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or Illustration is preferred.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation for this role. The range listed is just one component of Jam City's total compensation package for employees, which may also include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. Starting pay for the successful applicant will depend on a variety of job-related factors, which may include education, training, experience, certifications, location, business needs, or market demands. This range is based on a full-time position. This range may be modified in the future. In addition, Jam City provides a variety of benefits to employees, including but not limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan, life, disability, and accident insurance. Pay Range: $94,000 — $123,000 salary per year.
