The senior technical writer writes a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses. May be responsible for coordinating the display of graphics and screenshots and the production of the document.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Writing
- Creates and maintains policy, procedure, forms, job aids and process documentation that support corporate and field functions.
- Leads document reviews with key stakeholders of operations policy and procedures.
- Interviews operations and corporate personnel to gather content.
- Leads the communication and documentation portion of operational meetings and captures minutes, notes, and key decisions.
- Collects, edits, and crops all screen shots and graphics that are provided by SMEs and applies them appropriately to the documentation to support detailed instructions.
- Monitors, writes, and edits key messages on Company pages to ensure proper style and correct wording is applied.
- Assists Learning Department with policy and procedures training materials.
- Manages documentation projects by tracking each document’s progress in the development, editing and review lifecycle using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and SharePoint or other media.
MINIMUM Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in English literature, journalism, software engineering, computer science, or equivalent
Experience:
- Five (5) years in a Technical Writer, Business Analyst, or Documentation Specialist role
- Experience faciliting meetings, ochestrating document review sessions, and working with multiple levels of an organization to gather process requirements
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Understanding of technical terminology

- QA and testing skills
- Ability to write, edit, and/or revise a range of technical communications from specifically compiled raw data.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including MS Word, Power Point, and Excel
- Proficient in Adobe Acrobat XI PRO
- Proficient in SharePoint
Work Conditions
Work Environment
- Work primarily indoors during all seasons and weather conditions.
- Limited amount of local and/or multiple location traveling required.
- Comply with Corporate dress code policy.
Work Postures
- Sitting continuously for 8 hours per day
- May require climbing stairs to access office building.
Physical Demands
- Physical effort requiring manual dexterity is required, includes paperwork, calculators, computers, and phone usage.
