About the role:
We’re looking for a Senior Technical SEO Specialist who can own and drive the technical SEO roadmap for some of the largest and most recognized media brands in the world. You’ll work closely with Product, Editorial, and Engineering teams to drive organic growth by optimizing site performance, improving crawlability, and ensuring technical SEO best practices are embedded across all properties.
This is a high-impact individual contributor role where you won’t just identify SEO issues—you'll architect scalable solutions that influence site architecture, search visibility, and business outcomes. Your day-day: (aka Responsibilities)
🔧 Technical SEO Strategy & Execution

Own the technical SEO roadmap—identify, prioritize, and execute high-impact initiatives across multiple domains.

Conduct regular technical audits to improve crawlability, indexation, and Core Web Vitals.

Diagnose and resolve complex SEO issues (rendering, structured data, canonicalization, internal linking, etc.).

Develop scalable solutions for site architecture improvements and crawl budget optimization.

Manage critical site changes, including redirects, migrations, and large-scale content updates while maintaining SEO integrity.
🚀 Site Performance & Core Web Vitals

Lead efforts to optimize page speed, LCP, CLS, INP, and other performance metrics.

Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to implement performance fixes (CDN optimization, lazy loading, server-side rendering).

Identify and troubleshoot JavaScript SEO issues across modern frameworks (React, Angular, etc.).
🛠 Advanced Technical SEO & Automation

Leverage Python, SQL, or JavaScript for automating SEO audits, log analysis, and reporting workflows.

Perform log file analysis to understand search engine crawling behavior and identify optimization opportunities.

Implement and maintain structured data (Schema.org) to enhance organic visibility.

Manage server-side SEO elements (redirects, .htaccess, header responses) in partnership with development teams.
🤝 Cross-Functional Collaboration & Advocacy

Serve as the technical SEO expert, partnering with Product, Editorial, and Development teams to integrate SEO best practices throughout site projects.

Translate complex technical SEO concepts to non-technical stakeholders to drive alignment on priorities.

Produce detailed reporting on technical SEO performance using tools like GSC, GA4, Screaming Frog, and log file analyzers.

Provide training and documentation on technical SEO processes to internal teams.
You have: (aka Qualifications)

5+ years of hands-on technical SEO experience managing large, complex websites with high traffic volumes.

Deep understanding of Google’s crawling, rendering, and indexing mechanisms.

Proven success in leading technical SEO strategy and executing large-scale optimization initiatives.
-
Expertise in Core Web Vitals, site speed optimization, and structured data implementation.
-
Proficiency with SEO tools: Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, Google Analytics (GA4), SEMrush/Ahrefs, log analyzers (Botify, ContentKing, or similar).

Strong experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and their impact on SEO.

Advanced analytical skills using Excel, SQL, or similar tools; experience with data visualization (Looker, Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.

Familiarity with agile workflows (JIRA, Confluence).
